Our Convention’ll Attract New Members – Natasha

Senator representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha said the forthcoming National Convention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will attract new members to the party.

Senator Akpoti-Uduagha who is Chairperson of Entertainment Subcommittee of the convention, stated that the committee will introduce new ideas that will appeal to Nigerians.

The senator who joined PDP prior the 2023 general election, told party members, “I was not a member of the PDP at the last convention, but today I’m a serving Senator on our platform.

“So we must understand that parties grow by the inflow of persons.

“There are people who are members even of the ruling party and some of other smaller parties, but they must admire something in us and find hope and trust to join us.

“There are many Nigerians who have turned the age of 18 since the last convention, even from the last election, and they are searching for a party upon which they can entrust their political participation.

“So we must present our activities such that we will be the admired party for the youth.”

She charged committee members to bring vibrancy and new ideas, and assured that the best of Nigeria’s culture would be on display.

“We make sure that no region is left out of representing and participating in the cultural festivities.

“But we would expect a great deal from our host state, which is Oyo, because we would love to be entertained by the beautiful cultural groups and all that.

“We will respect all tribes, respect all religions. The very best of Nigeria should be put to fore and bear,” the Senator assured.

She disclosed that she will introduce competition among musical groups in her state, Kogi, “probably the best will win an award, a cash token and also a chance to participate” in the convention.
