President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, following allegations made against him.
Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter to the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.
In his letter, Nnaji said he had been the target of “blackmail by political opponents,” but did not elaborate on the nature of the allegations.
President Tinubu, in accepting the resignation, commended the former minister for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
