Nollywood actor and filmmaker Tobi Makinde has announced his engagement, delighting fans and colleagues with the news in a heartfelt post shared on social media.

“Some months ago, the love of my life said YES to me, and I was most delighted. I’m excited for this new journey that I’m about to embark on. Truthfully, it has always seemed very far-fetched, but just like every other BIG step I have taken in life, I sought God’s face, and trust me, He has always led me aright.”
Adding a playful twist to his announcement, Makinde revealed that his proposal didn’t go entirely as planned.
“I had only one job, which was to get a ring to fit perfectly, but I blew it and got a bigger size. Anyways, that has been sorted now. Na intention matter pass,” he joked.
The actor ended his post on a jubilant note, writing,
“I love you, my darling!! PS — I don finally commot for the ‘let the singles breathe’ group. Somebody shout hallelujah.”
Makinde’s engagement post quickly attracted an outpouring of love and congratulatory messages from fans, friends, and fellow Nollywood stars, many of whom celebrated the filmmaker for his authenticity and humor.
Beyond his memorable role in Jenifa’s Diary, Makinde has continued to build an impressive résumé in Nollywood, recently earning praise for his performance as Shina Judah in the 2024 box office hit A Tribe Called Judah.
