Four Killed, Teenager Injured in Lagos Snooker Spot Attack

A deadly assault on a popular snooker spot near a military barracks in Ojo, Lagos State, has claimed the lives of four people, with a 14-year-old boy injured by a stray bullet. The incident occurred on Saturday night, around 9 pm, at Onireke bus-stop, where the snooker spot is located.

According to eyewitnesses, five gunmen wearing native attire stormed the area, pretending to be patrons, before opening fire on the crowd. A resident, Akogun, recounted that the attackers shot indiscriminately, causing panic and chaos. A noodles vendor was among those killed, dying instantly.

The Lagos police have confirmed the incident, stating that five suspected cultists have been arrested in connection with the attack. The police command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, described the incident as a cult clash and assured that the commanders of the tactical squad operatives and the divisional police officer are working to apprehend more suspects.

The attack has sparked fear and tension in the community, with many residents left shaken. The authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The victims, including the teenager, were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, three more people later reported the deaths of their relatives, bringing the total number of fatalities to four.

This incident highlights the growing concern over cult-related violence in Lagos State, with residents calling for increased security measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
