Winner of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 8, Ilebaye Odiniya, has credited the reality TV show for transforming her life and career.
In a heartfelt post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday evening, the actress and TV personality reflected on her journey from being an early evictee to becoming a champion of Africa’s most popular reality show.
Ilebaye first appeared as a housemate in BBNaija Season 7 (2022) but was evicted in the third week. Undeterred, she returned for Season 8 in 2023, where she captured the hearts of viewers and claimed the coveted grand prize.
The self-styled “Gen-Z Baddie” said the show not only gave her a platform but also helped her grow personally.
“Two years ago, Big Brother changed everything. Not just the title, but me. I’ve grown, I’ve learned, I’ve become. The story isn’t over, only unfolding. Walked in as Ilebaye, came out as a star. It can only be God. And to my BayeTribe, you are my day ones, my strength, my family. Forever grateful,” she wrote.
Ilebaye also extended her gratitude to her fans, known as the BayeTribe, as well as her family for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
Since her BBNaija win, she has become one of the most talked-about reality stars in Nigeria, transitioning into acting, TV appearances, and brand endorsements.
