Armed Robbers Strike Ex-LG Chairman’s Home
A group of armed men broke into the home of Alhaji Emilola Gazal, a former chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government and publisher of The Roots Magazine, in the early hours of Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 2 a.m. at his residence in Ijebu-Ode GRA. According to Gazal, the armed men took all the cash he had with him and forced him to open his bank apps on his phone, transferring all the money in his account to one they provided, leaving only N5,000. They also stole his wife’s jewelry and his ash-colored car.
Gazal said the robbers explicitly stated their intention to take the car as they left his home. He plans to report the incident to the police at Igbeba and Obalende, Ijebu-Ode.
