APC Chieftain Tackles Ex-Deputy Gov Over Attack on Interior Minister

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Prince Adeboro Onibalusi, has faulted the claim of former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, that the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is desperate to succeed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Onibalusi expressed dismay that Oluboyo, an elder statesman who should mediate in any conflict within the party and in the state, has cast aspersions on the integrity of Tunji-Ojo, who is serving the country efficiently.

Oluboyo, had accused the Minister of Interior of desperation to be Governor when it is not the tenure of Ondo North, where he comes from, to produce the successor of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He also asked him to acknowledge Governor Aiyedatiwa as the leader of the party in the state.

However, Onibalusi expressed dismay that the former Deputy Governor decided to take on a man young enough to be his lastborn without provocation.

Onibalusi said no chicanery would be enough to bring down Tunji-Ojo, who he described as a high-flying and distinguished son of Akokoland.

His words “BTO’s landmark has transcended the myopic horizon envisaged by the likes of Oluboyo. What God has ordained, can’t be undone by spurious and unintelligent postulations.”

Onibalusi said the statement credited to the former Deputy Governor was one of the antics to set Governor Aiyedatiwa against the Minister of the Interior.

According to him, “These two notable leaders enjoy a very cordial relationship, necessary for the development and prosperity of our dear sunshine state. Any attempt to cause a cleavage in this union will at the least be inimical to the ondo state.

“BTO’s efforts in propagating the APC and setting the pace for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo state are complementary rather than confrontational. I am sure Governor Aiyedatiwa, who is an ardent supporter of Mr President, will never oppose this initiative of the Hon minister of Interiors.

“If the efforts of Tunji-Ojo are translated to desperation, I will agree that the Hon minister is desperate for the comeback of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and nothing more. Any other insinuations are mischievous and ill-motivated.
