The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Shina, the only son of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle and her husband, popular comic actor Sunday Omobolanle (Papi Luwe).
Shina’s passing occurred while his 56-year-old mother was on a film set. The sad news has left the family and colleagues devastated.
The tragedy comes only months after Shina completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme — a moment that had filled his mother with pride and joy.
News of his death was first made public by actor Odunlade Adekola, whose social media post drew an outpouring of grief, tributes, and prayers from fans and Nollywood colleagues.
For Ogunmola and Papi Luwe, who shared Shina as their only child together, the loss is a painful blow that has also shaken the wider Yoruba movie community.
