Pregnant Woman Loses Twins at Abuja Hospital After Trekking in Labour Over ₦28,000 Delivery Fee
A pregnant woman in Abuja has lost her twin babies after trekking in labour to raise money and secure a referral letter for delivery.
The woman, who was asked to bring ₦28,000 and a referral from her health centre, was spotted by a Good Samaritan while struggling on the road.
She explained she could not afford the delivery fee and had no baby items, while her husband was reportedly ill.
The Good Samaritan swung into action and took the pregnant woman to the health centre where it was discovered that she was in active labour.
Despite efforts to assist her, the twins sadly did not survive.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many Nigerians blaming the country’s poor healthcare system and lack of affordable maternal care.
