Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Alara of Aramoko-Ekiti, Oba Adegoke Olu Adeyemi, who died on August 8, 2025, at the age of 82.
In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, the governor described the late monarch as a father figure, a pillar of support, and an excellent administrator devoted to the growth of his people and the state at large.
Oyebanji praised the monarch’s legacy of leadership, noting his years of public service as a Permanent Secretary in the old Ondo State and Ekiti, as well as his tenure as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. He lauded the monarch’s wisdom, vision, and passion for development, saying these qualities helped attract progress to the Aramoko community.
“Kabiyesi Alara was a role model who gave his best to his people and humanity. His reign inspired progress and unity, and his contributions to education and governance remain unforgettable,” the governor stated.
Oyebanji extended condolences to the people of Aramoko, the Alara-in-Council, and the royal family. He emphasized that though the traditional ruler will be missed dearly, his impact on Ekiti State’s history and development will endure.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ekiti State, I condole with the good people of Aramoko-Ekiti, the Alara-in-Council, and the immediate and extended royal family. May God grant our departed Kabiyesi eternal rest,” he added.
The late Oba Adeyemi is remembered as a leader whose reign blended tradition with modernity, leaving an enduring mark on the socio-cultural and political fabric of Ekiti State.
