NIMASA, NSE strengthen collaboration for blue economy growth

In line with the blue economy mandate of the Federal Government, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has resolved to collaborate to advance Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure.

The Director General of the agency, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasised the critical role of professionalism in engineering practice as a foundation for Nigeria’s maritime and blue economy development.
Mobereola made the remark while receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), led by its President, Engineer Margaret Aina Oguntala, during a courtesy visit to NIMASA Management in Lagos.

The agency’s Deputy Director/Head, Public Relations, Osagie Edward said in a statement that the director general had under underscored the importance of engineering expertise in advancing Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure and assured the NSE of NIMASA’s commitment to closer collaboration in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Blue Economy mandate.

Also, Oguntala highlighted the NSE’s alignment with the blue economy initiative, noting that the society’s vision complements government efforts to harness the vast opportunities in Nigeria’s marine and maritime sectors.

She expressed confidence that strengthened cooperation between NSE and NIMASA would foster innovation, enhance infrastructure development, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

Both parties agreed to deepen collaboration for the benefit of the maritime sector and Nigeria’s economy at large.
