Wike’s Aide, Lere Olayinka & Arise TV Journalist Rufai Oseni Trade Insults Online
A heated exchange erupted on Facebook Saturday between Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Arise TV talk show host, Rufai Oseni, over alleged land allocations in Abuja.
The clash began after Rufai shared a purported document claiming that plots of land had been allocated to Wike’s children and relatives. In his post, the journalist questioned Olayinka’s silence on the matter and challenged him to publicly address the allegations.
“Since the revelation of the land allocation story by the FCT minister, his media aide has been quiet. I challenge his media handlers to react to the story. I am ready to give them a platform,” Rufai wrote.
Olayinka, however, fired back with a scathing response, dismissing the journalist’s call and questioning his credibility.
“I don’t react to someone who should be in Arise News producing a documentary on animals. Besides, which platform will you give me? Are you the owner of Arise News? Rest,” he retorted.
Rufai, undeterred, insisted that the aide address the allegations directly rather than resort to insults.
“I thought you would kindly speak to the allegations rather than deflect. The world is watching. React to these allegations and give a position to the issues,” he replied.
But Olayinka doubled down, releasing another sharp jab:
“I don’t respond to those who should be in the zoo feeding animals, abeg.”
The fiery exchange has since drawn attention online, with observers divided over whether the matter will prompt an official response from the FCT Ministry regarding the alleged land allocations.
