Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently freed from custody after a widely reported dispute with the airline, says she will share her version of events once she has fully recovered.
In a post on her Instagram page (@soft_commy) on Wednesday, Emmanson thanked her friends, family, and supporters for standing by her during her ordeal. She revealed that she is still in pain from how she was treated and needs medical attention before speaking publicly about the incident.
“Thank you so much for the prayers, love and support. I’ve been released from the prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated,” she wrote. “I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much, my lovely friends and supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless you all. Thank you, my great God!!!”
The dispute between Emmanson and Ibom Air reportedly began as a customer service disagreement on a recent flight and eventually led to her arrest and detention. Details of the altercation remain unclear, and both sides have yet to fully explain their accounts.
Ibom Air has not commented on her latest statement, though the airline previously confirmed a “customer service incident” took place and said it was being addressed internally. The company has also stressed that passenger and staff welfare remains a top priority.
Since her release, Emmanson’s social media post has attracted thousands of likes and comments, with many offering words of encouragement and calling for an investigation into her treatment in custody. Her supporters now await the full account she has promised to share after her medical recovery.
