The Kano State Government has reunite 59 Repatriated, Rescued Children with their Parents with a strong warning against allowing delinquency among Children who were abundant by their Parents.
The Government through the State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled, led by Commissioner Amina Abdullahi Sani HOD, handed over the 59 Repatriated Rescued Children while visiting Sumaila Local Government Area to follow up on the welfare of 59 repatriated children.
The Ministry Director Public Enlightenment Bintu Nuhu Yakasai said in a released, that the Commissioner, the handed them over to the Chairman of the Local Government after they were rescued and brought back to Kano a few months ago.
The Commissioner explained that the Government aimed at fully taking care of welfare of the children, including supporting them to enroll in school, and gives financial assistance to their parents for their up keeping.
Already the ministry had started sensitization of Mothers on Childcare, while commencing the registeration of Children of 15 year aged and above for skill acquisition programs.
The Commissioner, also enlightened Parents on the Child Protection Law in Kano State, emphasizing that child maltreatment would not be tolerated.
The Chairman of Sumaila Local Government, commended the Government and Commissioner for their support and urged parents to enroll their children in schools within their localities to prevent exposure to social vices and immoral acts.
The Galadiman Dajin Kano, District Head Aminu Abdullahi Nasidi, advised the repatriated children on the importance of good conduct and moral uprightness.
He emphasized the need for children to exhibit good behavior, respect their elders, and adhere to societal norms and values.
One of the parents expressed commitment to changing their attitude towards their children and pledged to spread the message to others.
A representative from Hisbah also emphasized the importance of childcare in Islam.
