Chelsea Stars Dominate as FIFA Names Club World Cup Team of the Tournament

Chelsea’s dominant run at the just-concluded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has been further confirmed as four of their players were named in the Team of the Tournament unveiled by FIFA on Monday.

The Blues, who thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in a thrilling final in New Jersey on Sunday, were deservedly rewarded for their stellar performance with the most representatives in the tournament’s best XI.

Leading the charge is Cole Palmer, whose two goals in the final sealed Chelsea’s maiden Club World Cup title. The 22-year-old midfielder was a standout performer throughout the tournament and has quickly become one of the rising stars of world football.

Joining Palmer in the elite selection are Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, and Marc Cucurella, all of whom played key roles in Chelsea’s unbeaten campaign. Their inclusion underlines the depth, quality, and cohesion that saw Chelsea brush aside top sides en route to the trophy.

From runners-up Paris Saint-Germain, three players made the cut—Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, and Vitinha. Despite falling short in the final, the French giants produced moments of brilliance throughout the tournament, with Hakimi’s tireless runs and Marquinhos’ leadership in defence particularly impressive.

In goal, Bono of Al-Hilal was selected as the top goalkeeper of the tournament. The Moroccan international made crucial saves during his team’s run, helping the Saudi club reach the semi-finals before bowing out.

Gonzalo Garcia of Real Madrid, a rising talent in the Spanish side’s midfield, also made the list after impressing with his vision and composure. His teammate narrowly missed out, as Real fell short of expectations this year.

South American side Fluminense had two players on the list—Thiago Silva, the veteran defender who rolled back the years with commanding displays, and Jhon Arias, whose pace and creativity on the flank lit up the tournament.
