Abure’s visit to Wike confirms his Ffraternisation with political enemies – LP

Labour Party has said it was not surprised at the viral photo showing the visit of its former National Chairman, Julius Abure to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, and said it confirmed its position that Abure is a socialising with political enemies.

The party in a statement by Special Adviser (Media) to the acting National Chairman Ken Asogwa, maintained that Abure is no longer a member of Labour Party.

According to the party, “the  circulated image of Abure socialising with known political saboteurs only reinforces what many Nigerians already suspect: that he is a shameless opportunist, propped up by those desperate to fracture the party from within.”

The party stated that its 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi is focused on addressing critical national issues.

“Abure, who continues to falsely parade himself as the National Chairman of the Labour Party, has shamelessly chosen to align himself with the very political forces responsible for the systemic collapse of our political party and that which we are fighting to overcome.

“Instead of standing with the people, Abure is seen wining and dining with the sponsors of oppression, tyranny and electoral malpractice.

“His actions lend further credence to our long-held position: that Julius Abure is not just unfit for leadership, but a willing tool in the hands of external forces bent on destabilising the Labour Party from within,” the party said.

Labour Party noted that Abure had demonstrated his disdain for the Labour Party by ignoring the official unveiling of the party’s campaign for the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Anambra State, and had earlier boycotted similar party programmes in Kogi, Edo and others considered symbolic of the collective strength and resolve of the party.

“His dereliction of duty, compounded by his ongoing fraternisation with political adversaries of the New Nigeria vision earned him suspension from the party.

“And his constant romance with these outside forces raises a fundamental question: Whose agenda is Julius Abure truly serving?

“It is evidently not the interest of the people, nor that of the Labour Party, but rather that of the very establishment he once pretended to oppose.

“As always, the  circulated image of Abure socialising with known political enemies only reinforces what many Nigerians already suspect: that he is a shameless opportunist, propped up by those desperate to fracture the party from within.

“The Nigerian people can now judge for themselves who the real villains were in the internal crisis that plagued our great party.”
