Tragedy! Liverpool officially retires Jota’s No.20 shirt

Liverpool have announced that the No 20 shirt is being permanently retired in honour of Diogo Jota.
The decision was taken by the Premier League champions after consultation this week with Jota’s wife Rute and other family members.
The retirement of the No 20 shirt applies to the club at all levels, including men’s, women’s and academy teams.
Liverpool regard it as a reflection not only of the immense contribution the Portugal international made to the club as a player during his five years on Merseyside, but also the personal impact he had on team-mates, staff and supporters.
It’s the first time such an honour has been bestowed on a player in the club’s illustrious history.
Jota died in a car accident alongside his brother last week.
