Nigerian Cyclist on Journey to U.S. Reaches Togo in 8 Days

A determined Nigerian cyclist, identified as @emmiwuks on social media, has successfully arrived in Togo just eight days into his courageous mission to ride a bicycle all the way from Nigeria to the United States.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @vdmempire, the young adventurer detailed his experience crossing into Togo and the challenges he faced on his first night in the country.

“Yesterday, we made it to Togo. I crossed the border around 3–4 p.m., rode another 10 to 15 kilometers, and started looking for a place to rest,” he explained. “I met a young guy who took me to a hotel, but I couldn’t afford the 10,000–15,000 CFA they asked for.”

The story took a heartwarming turn when the local boy invited him to his family home. “We went to his house. He said his dad doesn’t usually welcome strangers, but he liked me instantly,” the cyclist said. “I was even offered a room, but I chose to sleep outside in my own camp. That’s where I pitched my tent.”

Sharing an update with his followers, he posted:
“Day 8. Project NIG2USA 🇳🇬🇺🇸 ON BICYCLE. By the grace of God, I made it to TOGO 🇹🇬 today! Every pedal forward is a step closer to the dream—raising awareness and support for IDPs and orphaned children across Africa. Thank you all for the prayers, support, and encouragement. Let’s keep going—one border at a time!”
