The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched its grassroots network in Sokoto State and appointed Mainasara Umar as the State Coordinator to lead its activities.
The National Coordinator of the network, Engr. Mohammed Shuaibu, confirmed the appointment in an official letter shared via the group’s platform and made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday.
According to Shuaibu , Umar’s appointment was based on his track record, experience, and commitment to policies aimed at building a Nigeria that works for all.
“This appointment takes immediate effect. It is aimed at establishing a platform that will inform and educate the public on the true objectives of the coalition,” he stated.
“We are not aligned with any particular candidate. Our focus is on the ADC’s vision to build a nation led by transparent and credible leaders who are committed to a better future,” he said.
Shuaibu further disclosed that Umar will be supported by Hon. Abbah Abubakar and Mr. Muhammad Bimasa, who will serve as the State Secretary.
“Together, they are expected to constitute the local government and ward leadership structures across Sokoto State,” he added.
The coordinator congratulated the appointees and urged them to collaborate with all stakeholders to work towards a better Nigeria.
In his acceptance remarks, Umar appealed to members of the public to support the coalition in its commitment to meaningful transformation.
He pledged to work diligently in building a team that not only delivers results but also upholds the ideology of the ADC for the benefit of the state and the country at large.
“Our goal is not just about forming a coalition, but about doing the right thing for our country,” he said.
“In the ADC, our mission is inclusive leadership—leadership that corrects past mistakes and addresses the current economic hardships, hunger, and security challenges facing the nation,” Umar affirmed.
