Steaze, Style, Splendour Light Up Ojude Oba 2025

The city of Ijebu Ode is currently bubbling with excitement, colour, and royal energy as the grand Ojude Oba Festival 2025 unfolds in all its glory. Known for its rich cultural pride and flamboyant displays, the ongoing celebration is once again proving why it stands tall as one of Nigeria’s most iconic cultural events.

Held annually two days after Eid-al-Adha, the festival is a special tribute to the revered Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. And this year, the town is glowing brighter than ever as Ijebu sons and daughters from across the world gather to honour their king and heritage.

Right now, the streets of Ijebu Ode are shimmering as the Regberegbe, the traditional age-grade group, take turns to display their unity, elegance, and creativity. Dressed in stunningly coordinated fabrics, with headpieces, embroidery, and glittering accessories to match, each group made a grand entrance, dancing and marching proudly before the monarch.

It is a sea of colours, royal blues, deep purples, bright yellows, and sparkling whites—each outfit carefully crafted to make a statement. The atmosphere is electric, with drums beating, flutes whistling, and the crowd cheering in admiration.

One name on everyone’s lips today is Farooq Oreagba, who has once again made a bold fashion statement that has the crowd buzzing. With his unique blend of tradition and steaze, style with ease, he is capturing hearts and lenses. Several other dignitaries and celebrities including Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State have been seen in colourful attires. Actors Lateef Adedimeji and Femi Branch have also caught attention with their costumes and grand entry.

As the festival continues, horse riders from royal and warrior families are thrilling the crowd with dramatic and graceful entrances. The horses, draped in rich ornaments and fine cloths, are carrying proud riders who represent the strength and history of the Ijebu people.
