Victor Boniface has announced his retirement from international football at the age of 24 after a poor performance in the 1-1 draw against Russia in an international friendly game in Moscow.
Boniface who was subbed off in the second half of the game made the announcement on his official Instagram page immediately after the game.
“Proud to play for my country and a dream for me also. Really enjoyed every moment the good and the bad Thanks a lot. Thank you All. I don hang boot less”, he posted.
Known for his playful nature and jokes. The post was confirmed as nothing close to a prank or a joke by Nigerian journalist Buchi who is very close to the Bayer Leverkusen star.
