Sokoto State Government has organized a special prayer for the success of the All Progressive Congress (APC), led Federal government of President Bola Ahmed and the Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu.
The special prayer was held at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Hall within Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s residence.
The prayer session, led by prominent Islamic scholars and attended by notable leaders, sought divine guidance and success for the governments of President Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Aliyu.
The Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Jumu’ah Mosque Liman Bello Malam Akwara led the prayer session, attended by hundreds of Islamic faithful.
Prayers was offered after reading of the versus of the Holy Qu’ran and took hours as Muslim faithful echoed Amin in unison for each of the prayer sessions.
The prayers which is part of the continuation activities to mark the second year anniversary of the APC led governments.
The prayer hall which was filled to it’s brim while large number of the Senator’s fans stayed outside to observe the anniversary.
Sokoto State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Associate Professor Jabir Maihula, highlighted the state’s progress under Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration.
Maihula stated that they have every reason to thank God for not only being alive to witness tow years in office but also testifying to how the Ahmed Aliyu led adminstration has put the state on the right track of development with multiple completed projects and ongoing ones as well.
Maihula who stressed that, what is happening in Sokoto presently is simply good governance in action, submitted that, it can only get better with Ahmed Aliyu who has laid the foundation for a prosperous state.
“We have to organise this prayer session to appreciate and thank God for the space He gave the governor to lead the state for the benefit of our people”.
Governor Aliyu expressed gratitude to God for guiding his administration and reaffirmed his commitment to good governance and people-centered projects.
Aliyu said the gathering was simply but to thank God for His guidance in the successful completion of his two years piloting the affairs of the Seat of the Caliphate.
While maintaining that the evidence are glaring for everybody to see that, it has a been a two impactful years, governor Aliyu reassured of his commitment to sustaining the momentum in proving good governance and dividends of democracy in line with his 9 point smart agenda.
He therefore reassured of continuing his institutionalized, people centered and measurable people oriented projects for the good of the people of the state.
“Our commitment to the course of repositioning the state remain cardinal and dear to our hearts for a new Sokoto state full of opportunities for citizens.
” I will also seize this opportunity to acknowledge your fervent prayers and solicit for more for the peace, stability and development of the state and nation”.
The special prayer session was attended by dignitaries, including former Governor Yahaya Abdulkareem, former Deputy Governor Mukhtari Shagari, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and other notable APC members and government officials.
