President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Managing Director, Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr and his family, over the passing of their mother, Mrs. Feyemi Adebisi Sawyerr.
President Tinubu described Mrs Sawyerr who would be buried today, as a consummate health professional whose life was defined by service, love, and grace.
He further acknowledged her life-saving work as a professional nurse and midwife, and for dedicating decades to the health and well-being of others in Nigeria and abroad.
President Tinubu in a statement signed by his Special Adviser Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga recalled how Mrs Sawyerr’s exemplified excellence, compassion, and commitment to humanity from her early years at Massey Hospital in Lagos to her distinguished professional journey in the United Kingdom and eventual return to serve her nation.
He said: “In public service, Matron Adebisi’s contributions to the Family Planning Council of Nigeria remain a testament to her dedication and vision. As a wife and mother, she was a gem to her family. God blessed her with the grace to age with dignity and respect, surrounded by loving children and grandchildren.”
President Tinubu earnestly prayed that God Almighty would grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and comfort all who mourn her passing.
