The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose Local Government Area, Nelson Adepoyigi, was tragically killed by his kidnappers despite a ransom being paid for his release. The political leader was abducted earlier this week by armed assailants who subsequently demanded a ransom.
Eyewitnesses and local sources reveal that although the family or associates complied with the kidnappers’ demands and paid the ransom, the gunmen callously executed Adepoyigi before fleeing the scene. This brutal act has sent shockwaves through the community and heightened fears about the deteriorating security landscape in Ondo State, particularly in the Ose area, which has been plagued by frequent kidnappings and violent attacks.
As of this report, state security agencies have not released an official comment regarding the killing. However, insiders confirm that investigations are ongoing and that efforts to track down the perpetrators are being intensified. Residents and political stakeholders alike are demanding urgent action to address the rising insecurity that threatens lives and governance in the region.
