The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Women Wing, Sokoto State Chapter, celebrated its 41st anniversary with a sensitization campaign on women’s roles in crime prevention.
The committee visited Police Children School Mobile Barrack and Hafsatu Ahmadu Bello Secondary School.
At the Police Children School, Coordinator Hon. Hajara Aliyu Sanda emphasized women’s crucial role in curbing security challenges.
Dr. Hindatu Usman, Deputy Secretary National Women Committee, stressed community vigilance and encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities.
Statement issued by DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, anipr ,the Command’s PPRO further stated that the committee distributed exercise books to the children.
At Hafsatu Ahmadu Bello Secondary School, the PCRC Women Committee created awareness among senior students and distributed sanitary pads to support girls’ menstrual health and education.
The school principal welcomed the initiative and promised to establish a PCRC club.
The committee also met with the State Commissioner of Police, who pledged support for their initiatives.
The celebration highlighted the importance of women’s involvement in crime prevention and community policing, while promoting girls’ education and health.
The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to collaborating with PCRC to achieve a crime-free society.
