The Kogi State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the mysterious deaths of a man and a woman found lifeless in an apartment in Ankpa Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, identified as Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama—both residents of Ankpa—were discovered naked and unresponsive in Salifu’s room, raising questions about the circumstances leading to their deaths.
Spokesperson for the state command, SP William Aya, confirmed the incident on Saturday, describing the case as “sudden and unnatural.”
According to Aya, the police were alerted around noon by one Salisu Ibrahim, a resident of Alo in Ankpa, who reported that his tenant, Sheriff Salifu, had not been seen that morning.
“Upon receiving the report, the brother of the deceased gained entry into the apartment through the ceiling and found both Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama lying naked and motionless,” Aya said.
While it is yet to be determined if the deceased were in a relationship, the peculiar circumstances have prompted the police to open a discreet investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
Aya assured that the command is committed to uncovering the truth behind the tragic discovery, urging members of the public to remain calm while the investigation unfolds.
