Tragedy Strikes Owerri House Party As 2 Die, Others Hospitalized After Drug & Alcohol Overdose

A house party turned deadly in Owerri, the Imo State capital, as two young individuals were confirmed dead and two others left battling for their lives following alleged excessive consumption of drugs and alcohol.

The tragic incident, which has sent shockwaves across social media, was brought to public attention through a viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter). The disturbing footage showed the lifeless bodies of the victims being transported in the back of a pickup truck.
According to the caption accompanying the video, the ill-fated party was organized by a group of three girls, and spiraled into chaos when several attendees began experiencing severe reactions to substances reportedly consumed at the event.
“House party organized by three girls in Owerri ends in tragedy as two are confirmed dead and two others are battling for their lives due to excessive intake of drugs and alcohol,” the post read.
Sources indicate that the two surviving victims were rushed to a nearby hospital and remain in critical condition as of the time of this report.
