Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for launching initiatives to develop youth and sports across Nigeria.
Represented by Permanent Secretary Muhammad Bello Yusuf, Gov Aliyu received the National Sports Torch at Government House Sokoto, praising the National Sports Festival as a unifying force among youths.
The governor assured that Sokoto State would actively participate in the upcoming festival in Ogun State and commended the state’s under-12 Handball team for their outstanding performance at the National Youths Games in Anambra.
National Sports Commission team leader Mbara Ikana, who presented the National Unity Torch, appreciated the warm reception from the Sokoto state government.
This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to youth development and sports growth, aligning with his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Gov Aliyu has consistently praised President Tinubu’s efforts, highlighting projects such as water schemes in Sokoto State.
