Leading network service, MTN has charged women to position their businesses for sustainable growth, using technology as a tool.
This assertion was made by Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor during this year International Women’s Day celebration, staged on March 28, at the MTN Rooftop, Falomo, Lagos.
The event with theme: ‘ Scaling With Impact’ saw over 250 businesswomen, thought leaders, and industry professionals, sparking engaging discussions on business resilience, technology adoption, and overcoming entrepreneurial barriers.
“Women entrepreneurs who embrace digital tools will have a competitive edge. From leveraging cloud computing to expanding through e-commerce, technology is a non-negotiable driver of growth. Women must also learn to encourage SMEs to adopt digital efficiency solutions, including online payment systems, AI-driven customer engagement, and data analytics for informed decision-making,” Saint-Nwafor stated.
However, Head, SME Products, Sterling Bank, Bolanle Tyson reassured attendees that alternative financing options are available saying, “You don’t always need a traditional bank loan to scale. Fintech platforms, angel investors, and government-backed grants provide accessible funding opportunities for women entrepreneurs.”
“ I encouraged entrepreneurs to build strong financial records, seek out SME-friendly banks, and explore digital banking solutions for business growth.”
A major highlight was the all-expense-paid mentoring dinner, where three entrepreneurs received exclusive business coaching from top executives.
One of the attendees, Adaobi Okonkwo, a fashion entrepreneur, shared her excitement: “I have gained so much clarity on how to structure my business for growth. The mentorship opportunity is a dream come true!”
