The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas has condoled the people and the government of Oyo state over the passage of a former governor of the state, Victor Olunloyo.
Born on April 14, 1935, Olunloyo passed away on Saturday at 89, a few days to his 90th birthday. He was governor of Oyo State between October 1, 1983, and December 31, 1983, under the defunct Second Republic.
The speaker, in a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described the late Olunloyo as a thoroughbred technocrat, and a disciplined personality with impeccable character.
Speaker Abbas noted how the ex-governor remained vocal on burning national issues and guided several administrations that came on board after his.
While praying to God to grant the soul of the late Olunloyo eternal rest, the Speaker prayed that the family be consoled.
