The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, has directed all Area Commanders, DPOs, and other tactical commanders to adopt proactive measures through effective intelligence gathering.
This is in preparation for the forthcoming Eid-Fitr celebration, as the command assures its sustained efforts to improve public safety and security before, during, and after the 2025 Eid celebrations.
CP Ahmed Musa further directed the commanders to conduct raids on black spots within their areas of responsibility to ensure a seamless and peaceful Sallah celebration.
According to DSP Ahmad Rufai, Police Public Relations Officer, the Commissioner has approved the mobilization of operational assets, including anti-riot water cannons, to be on red alert.
Patrol vehicles and adequate deployment of police personnel will be strategically located for visibility policing, stop-and-search duties at all entry and exit points of the state.
This will be done in synergy with other security agencies to provide a safe and secure celebration.
The Commissioner of Police wishes to felicitate with all Muslim faithful and urges them to remain law-abiding and tolerant of one another, despite religious and ethnic differences.
