The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a public disclaimer warning against a fake X (formerly Twitter) account impersonating Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.
In a statement posted on the Super Eagles’ official X account on Saturday night, the NFF clarified that Chelle does not have an X account.
The Nigerian football governing body caution fans against fraudulent pages spreading misinformation.
“Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, does not have an X account. His only official social media presence is on Instagram: [@eric_chelle],” the statement read.
The NFF urged the public to be cautious, emphasizing that any X account claiming to be Chelle is fake and should be ignored to prevent falling victim to scams.
This warning comes amid increasing concerns about misinformation and fraudulent activities on the platform.
Chelle and the Super Eagles are currently in Uyo, preparing for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
