The Zone 10 Police Headquarters Sokoto says the AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah has assumed duty on 20th March, 2025 as the new Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 10 Headquarters Sokoto.
Statement issued by DSP Uthman Muhammad Yaqub,the Zonal PPRO further stated that the Zone which comprises of Sokoto,Kebbi and Zamfara states Police Commands respectively.
AIG Grimah took over from the Immediate past Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Abubakar Lawal Daura who retired from the force on 3rd march, 2025.
AIG Grimah hails from Nasarawa State, and he holds a BSc. Hons in Chemistry from ABU, Zaria and MPA.
The vibrant young Augustine Grimah was enlisted into the Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) May 1992 and trained at Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.
From the completion of his training to the very moment of his deployment to Zone 10 Police Headquarters Sokoto as AIG, he had served in several States Commands and Police formations in various capacities among which include,the Patrol and Guard (P&G) Ops, Enugu State Command.
He was also at Unit Commander (U/C) in 27 PMF Katsina State, 2I/C Squadron Commander in 27 PMF Katsina State, Staff Officer, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) S/Gari Division, Katsina State, Investigator in Special Fraud Unit (SPU), FCID Abuja.
At the strategic managerial cadre of the Force, he was, Commandant, Police Secondary School (PSS), Calabar, Commandant, Police Boys Secondary School (PBSS), Mani Katsina State, AC Department Training and Development, Katsina State Command, AC X-Squad FCID Abuja.
AC SCID Plateau State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Force Provost Marshall, FHQs Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Criminal Investigation Department Enugu State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Department of Operations Ekiti State Command, Commissioner of Police, Information Communication Technology (ICT), FHQs Abuja.
Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command and Commissioner of Police Cross River State Command from where he is posted as the 24th AIG Zone10 Sokoto.
AIG Grimah has vast knowledge and experience in Police Operations, Investigation and Administration which he pledged to utilize in the administration of Zone 10 Police Headquarters in order to subdue the various forms of criminality bedeviling the Zone.
He has charged all Officers and men of the Zone to be focused on their responsibilities of maintaining law and order without jettisoning professionalism, since the task of keeping the Zone crime free, just as that of his predecessor, remains paramount.
The AIG is soliciting for the support of all stakeholders in the discharge of his responsibility.
