Verydarkman Reacts As House Of Representatives’ Move To Ban Adult Sites

The recent directive by the House of Representatives to completely restrict access to adult websites nationwide has sparked widespread discussions on social media. Among those reacting to the decision is popular online critic, Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman.
During a plenary session on Tuesday, March 11, the House instructed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to take immediate action in blocking adult content across the country. Lawmakers emphasized that internet service providers should enforce the restriction in compliance with the directive.
In response, Verydarkman shared his views in a video, expressing disappointment with the move. He argued that there are far more pressing issues in the country that require urgent attention. He also pointed out that many Nigerians, particularly men, turn to adult content as a way to relieve stress and relax. According to him, watching such content is “the easiest form of enjoyment for anyone.”
The directive has continued to generate mixed reactions, with some supporting the measure while others question its necessity amidst other national challenges.
“If I talk now them go say I no get respect, you can’t ban cows from entering people’s farmland? A lot of people watch blue flim to forget and sleep, what is the government doing for the youth?” VDM asked in the video.
