Benue motorists to benefit from CNG initiative

Motorists in Benue State will soon experience relief as the state government advances its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative following Governor Hyacinth Alia’s remodeling of a state-owned filling station in Makurdi to include a CNG conversion center, offering vehicle owners access to refueling and conversion services.

The corporate communications team of the Benue Investment and Property Bureau, led by Joyce Isiaku, confirmed significant progress, with structural modifications nearing completion and underground tanks undergoing maintenance.

The initiative aligns with the governor’s commitment to sustainable energy, mirroring President Bola Tinubu’s push for alternative fuel adoption to reduce carbon emissions and lower transportation costs.

Once completed, the CNG facility will serve as both a refueling hub and a conversion center, allowing vehicle owners to transition from petrol and diesel to the more cost-effective and environmentally friendly CNG option.

The project is expected to boost economic activities, create job opportunities, and contribute to a cleaner environment in the state.
