The sudden passing of former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, has left many in shock, with speculation running wild. However, the FCT Police Command has debunked rumors of kidnapping or foul play, stating that the retired CG was found dead in a hotel room hours after a female visitor left.
According to a police statement released by spokesperson Josephine Adeh, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel in Abuja’s Area 3 Junction at noon on March 3, 2025. He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid ₦22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after, he received a female guest, who was escorted to his room by a hotel attendant.
The woman left the hotel around 4 PM. However, Parradang never emerged from his room after her departure. Concern grew when a military officer, said to be a close friend, tried to reach him but got no response. By 4 AM the next morning, the officer, with the help of hotel staff, gained access to his room—only to find him lifeless, seated in a chair.
Authorities were immediately notified, and officers from the Durumi Police Station arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence. His body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.
Dismissing initial reports that he had been kidnapped and murdered, the police urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims. “We are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death,” Adeh said.
Parradang was a seasoned immigration officer who served the country for over 30 years, holding key positions across the Nigerian Immigration Service before rising to the top as Comptroller General.
As authorities dig deeper into the mystery, one question remains: what really happened in that hotel room after his guest left?
