A man has been nabbed by the Lagos State Police for allegedly stabbing an Uber driver and making off with his car like a Nollywood villain.
According to Lagos Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the shocking incident happened on Saturday around 7:34 pm at Ile-Zik, Agege. The Uber driver, just doing his usual runs, picked up a passenger at Nitel by Old Abeokuta Motor Road, Agege, heading to Marriott Hotel, GRA Ikeja.
But instead of a smooth trip, things took a dark turn. Right there at Ile-Zik, the supposed passenger pulled out a sharp knife, attacked the driver mercilessly, and zoomed off with his Toyota Camry!
The badly injured driver somehow made it to Isokoko Police Division and reported the attack. Omo, Lagos Police no waste time at all! They quickly swung into action, traced the stolen vehicle, and caught the suspect at Oshodi before he could pull a fast one.
The thief-turned-action-star was arrested on the spot, and the stolen car was recovered. Meanwhile, the Uber driver has been rushed to the hospital for treatment. Thank God for small mercies!
The police have assured that investigations are ongoing, and justice will be served.
