Assistant Superintendent Of Police, Shafi’u Usman Bawa Commits Suicide In Niger State

A senior police officer, ASP Shafi’u Usman Bawa, tragically took his own life in Kontagora town, Niger State, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  
The incident was confirmed through an internal police signal obtained by *SaharaReporters*, which stated that Bawa was found dead after hanging himself from the ceiling.  
His father, Mr. Usman Bawa, a resident of the Rigasa area in Kontagora, reported the incident to the police authorities. Following the report, the lifeless body of the officer was taken to the General Hospital in Kontagora, where a medical doctor officially confirmed his death.  
In line with Islamic rites, the remains of the deceased were released to his family for burial.  
Police authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death, promising to provide further updates as more details emerge.
