Just-In: Driver rams into soldiers during morning drills in Lagos, many feared dead

Many soldiers attached to the Myoung Barracks in Lagos may have died after a suspected drunken driver rammed into a unit of them doing morning physical training.

The incident which happened in the early hours of Friday has caused panic among the military community, with many hoping that their loved ones were not affected.

“There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back,” said one of the soldiers who spoke to our reporter.

According to the soldier, there were three young men in the vehicle suspected to be Yahoo Boys (internet fraudsters) who rammed into the soldiers around the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp. One or them immediately ran away, while the remaining two have been beaten to stupor, with their vehicle vandalized.
