2025 AFCON: Eagles Open campaign Tanzania tie on December 23

The Super Eagles will begin their quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in the Northeastern city of Fez, Morocco, where they will play all their Group C matches. Fez, the second-largest city in Morocco, will host Nigeria’s group stage games at the 45,000-capacity Fez Stadium.

The action kicks off on December 23, when the Super Eagles face Tanzania in their opening match. This encounter comes two days after the competition’s grand opening in Rabat.

Four days later, on December 27, Nigeria will square off against Tunisia, a team that knocked them out of the Round of 16 during the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

The Super Eagles will wrap up their group stage campaign on December 30, taking on Uganda in what promises to be a decisive clash.

From the six groups in the tournament, the top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the knockout rounds.

With a mix of talent and determination, the Super Eagles will aim to soar past their Group C opponents and secure a strong path to the title. Let the countdown begin!
