Award-winning actor Stan Nze recently opened up about one of the most painful experiences in his career—a moment when a simple interview took a very unexpected turn and left him deeply hurt.
Recalling the ordeal, Stan shared: “I had just gotten married and granted an interview that was supposed to focus on my work. You know, talk about the grind, the projects, and all that. But, to my surprise, they weren’t even interested in my movie. They were fishing for a headline, and the focus shifted to my personal life.”
Stan was in the middle of a busy shoot when the interview happened. “We were on set, and they were shooting upstairs,” he explained. “Whenever there was a break, I’d come down for the interview.”
Then came the curveball. During one of the breaks, the cameraman casually threw in a question that changed everything. “He said, ‘Your marriage is recent, and people are saying you married an older woman.’ I was caught off guard, but I tried to address it calmly, repeating what I’d already seen floating around on blogs. Next thing I knew, I was trending with this wild headline: ‘Why I Married My 43-Year-Old Woman.’”
Stan was floored. “I was shocked and thought, ‘How did we even get here?’” he said. To make matters worse, other blogs jumped on the headline and ran with it, turning his personal life into public gossip overnight.
For Stan, it wasn’t just about the invasion of privacy; it was the distortion of the truth that stung the most. “It hurt because it wasn’t the narrative I wanted out there,” he admitted.
Despite the pain, Stan continues to shine in his craft, reminding us all that behind the glitz and glam of stardom are real people with real feelings.
