Finnish authorities have taken decisive action against Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafran agitator, by freezing his assets and those of companies linked to him.
Ekpa, who faces allegations of terrorism-related activities, has been in detention for several weeks. According to Sahara Reporters, the Finnish government has also frozen the assets of four of Ekpa’s alleged accomplices, who are similarly in custody.
A local Finnish newspaper, Yle, confirmed that Ekpa is currently being held at Kylmäkoski Prison, a high-security facility in Vanhamaantie, Akaa, Finland, known as one of the world’s toughest prisons.
Given the firm position of Finnish authorities, it appears likely that Ekpa will remain in detention through the Christmas and New Year holidays.
