Wizkid’s Morayo Makes Stunning Debut on Billboard 200

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid is making waves once again as his latest album, Morayo, debuts at No. 98 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The project, which sold an impressive 13,000 units in its first week, was announced by Chart Data on Monday, cementing Wizkid’s global influence.

Released on November 22, Morayo is more than just an album—it’s a heartfelt tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The album is an emotional journey through grief, love, and resilience, resonating deeply with fans worldwide.

Packed with 16 diverse tracks, Morayo features standout songs like Troubled Mind, Karamo, Kese (Dance), Bad Girl, and A Million Blessings. Collaborations with Afrobeats sensation Asake, U.S. R&B stars Brent Faiyaz and Jazmine Sullivan, French artist Tiakola, and Anaïs add a rich, global flavor to the album.

This latest achievement is another feather in Wizkid’s cap. His 2020 album, Made in Lagos, recently became the most-streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music and earned an RIAA gold certification in 2022 after surpassing 500,000 copies in U.S. sales.

With Morayo continuing to climb charts and touch hearts, Wizkid proves once again why he’s a titan of the global music scene. Fans are already speculating about what heights the album will reach next.
