BREAKING: Fire Ravages Radio Nigeria Lagos Office

A fire outbreak on Wednesday evening disrupted operations at the Radio Nigeria premises located on Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Lagos, prompting swift action from emergency services.

The blaze, which began around 5:30 PM, engulfed the studio section of the U-shaped one-story building. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, as investigations are currently underway to determine its origin.

Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, revealed that the agency received a distress call and immediately mobilized firefighters from the Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Onitolo Fire Stations.

Emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service and the Nigerian Police, joined forces to contain the inferno. Their efforts successfully limited the fire’s spread, restricting the damage to the studio section of the building.

“The public is assured that collaborative efforts have brought the situation under control,” Adeseye confirmed. “While the cause of the fire is still being investigated and no casualties have been reported, damping down of the fire embers is ongoing.”

Authorities are continuing their assessment of the damage caused by the incident.
