President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in seven new ministers to his cabinet at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja. This follows their confirmation by the Senate on Thursday, where all nominees were individually screened and approved.
The new ministers took the oath of office in two batches, with the first group comprising four appointees and the second group consisting of three. Their citations were read by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information.
The first batch includes:
- Idi Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development
- Yusuf Ata – Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
- Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad – Minister of State for Education
- Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
The second batch includes:
- Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment
- Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
- Muhammadu Dingyadi – Minister of Labour and Employment
This swearing-in ceremony is part of a significant cabinet reshuffle that President Tinubu announced on October 23, which included the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios, the dismissal of five others, and the nomination of seven new ministers for Senate confirmation.
