At 9:00 PM on Thursday, residents in certain areas of Kaduna State celebrated as the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company restored power for a brief period. This comes in the wake of severe hardships faced by the region due to widespread blackouts that began several days ago.
Many businesses reliant on electricity have been forced to shut down during the frustrating power outages. However, on Wednesday, a glimmer of hope emerged when power was briefly restored for approximately two hours.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), represented by Ndidi Mbah, the general manager of public affairs, confirmed that power was restored at 4:56 PM. With this restoration, the Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line 2 is now operational, facilitating bulk power transmission to several states, including Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe.
