The Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 Mr. Peter Obi wondered why President Bola Tinubu has not come back to the country after his two weeks leave elapsed on October 16
Tinubu had left Nigeria on October 2, for a two-week working leave in the United Kingdom, and said it was part of his annual leave.
The leave supposed to end on October 16, but the president, in a statement by his media handlers, left London for Paris, France “to attend an important engagement”.
Obi in a statement wondered why Tinubu has not yet returned to the country despite the prevailing economic and other challenges facing the nation.
He remarked that “The President had told us he would only be gone for 14 days. The 14 days have passed now, and we are waiting to see him in the country.
“One would have expected him to return earlier than expected, considering the volume of work that needs to be done in a troubled nation like ours.
“The untold hardship that has been unleashed on our people as a result of some of his administration’s policies is unimaginable and we need his urgent attention to pilot the nation out of this present situation.”
