Police Use Teargas on Protesters in Abuja Market

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have dispersed #FearlessInOctober protesters who had gathered at Utako Market in Abuja.

The protesters, who arrived as early as 7 a.m. on Tuesday, were rallying against the economic hardship caused by government policies and programs. However, by 8:54 a.m., police officers intervened and dispersed the crowd.

The #FearlessInOctober protest is a continuation of the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations held between August 1 and 10, which were organized in response to the economic struggles faced by many Nigerians.
