The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has announced the surrender of a notorious Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, to troops stationed in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State.
According to Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osaba, MNJTF’s Chief Military Information Officer in Ndjamena, Abacha confessed to participating in multiple terrorist operations along the Mongunu-Baga axis. He cited the intensified operations of the MNJTF and his loss of interest in the Boko Haram cause as reasons for his surrender.
Upon surrendering, Abacha handed over an AK-47 rifle, a magazine with 11 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an Airtel SIM card, and N32,500. He is currently providing valuable intelligence to authorities.
In a separate operation, MNJTF troops, in collaboration with intelligence units, ambushed Boko Haram fighters transporting supplies in three Toyota vehicles. The troops engaged the terrorists in a gunfight, killing one while others fled, abandoning their supplies. Items recovered include the three vehicles filled with food and various supplies, along with N2,000 in cash.
