The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it will reproduce the strategy that led to their victory at the just concluded governorship election in Edo State when the polls in Ondo and Anambra states get underway.
The National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who revealed this during a ceremony to celebrate the victory of its candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in the Edo election, said the APC would clinch the seats at the Governmen t Houses in Ondo and Anambra.
Ganduje underlined the need for his party to extend its influence in the South-East particularly by dislodging the government of Governor Charles Soludo of the All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The APC has two states in the region; Governor Hope Uzodinma in Imo while Governor Francis Nwifuru is holding forte for the party in Ebonyi.
“Next year, Anambra State will follow,” he said.
He added that the party is focused on a project termed “political demarginalisation of South East geo-political zone.”
He further stated, “We already have 2, but 2 is too small for a big party like ours. We will face that state and see how we can recover many states in our favour.”
Meanwhile, North Central APC elders, led by former Senate President Ameh Ebute, expressed confidence in a 2027 electoral victory during a visit to Ganduje at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Ebute said, “We have no doubt in your ability to lead this party to a higher level.”
They congratulated Ganduje on his recent court victory, which dismissed a suit filed by the North Central APC Forum seeking to remove him from his chairmanship.
“We are happy that the suit seeking your sack as national chairman was struck out,” Ebute added.
